VERONA AND BARDOLINO TOUR

Free for those who register for the full conference

On the third day of the conference:

Motorcoach departure from Venice's Tronchetto at 8:45 AM and from Mestre's NH Laguna Palace Hotel at 9:00 AM

Verona as seen through the magical lens of Nico Trinkhaus

At the heart of this tour lies Verona, a splendid city of art, surrounded by the traces of its ancient history, splendid in its mythical dimension bestowed upon it by the Shakespearean tragedy of Romeo (Montagu) and Juliet (Capulet). "There is no world without Verona walls," wrote Shakespeare, lending the city immortality and fame with its story of the star-crossed lovers.

Roman ruins, medieval vestiges, Venetian and Austrian traces can be seen all across the city, as well as antique palaces, squares, bridges and wonderful churches. In the historical centre, Piazza Bra and the Arena, Piazza Erbe and Piazza dei Signori, Via Cappello and Corso Porta Borsari lead to the Teatro Romano, Ponte Pietra, Castelvecchio, the Ponte Scaligero and the ancient churches of San Fermo and Sant’Anastasia, the Cathedral (Duomo) and San Zeno.

Elegant cafés and ancient osterie (i.e., typical inns of the Veneto territory), craftsman shops and high couture shops enliven the city. Verona is one of the most visited cities in Italy. It is a man-sized city which fascinates visitors with its elegance and its welcoming atmosphere.

After Verona, we proceed to Bardolino in the famous Lago di Garda. Our sponsors are fully aware of the potential of such a conference in promoting Italy to international academia.

Please note that on both our tours, the private motocoach will pick up delegates from Venice and from Mestre.
